You must meet the following requirements to be considered:
Application Fees: The primary applicant’s, spouse’s, and minor children’s costs are all included. Each adult dependent will be charged a fee of 7,500 Euros.
The property must either be purchased for at least €300,000 or leased for at least €10,000 per year to qualify. If the applicant buys a home, the applicant must donate €68,000 to the Malta State Fund; if the applicant rents, the applicant must donate €98,000 to the Malta State Fund. Furthermore, each applicant must contribute an additional €2,000 to a Maltese charity of his choice.
The property must be bought for at least €350,000 or leased for at least €12,000 per year. If the applicant buys a home, the applicant must donate €68,000 to the Malta State Fund; if the applicant rents, the applicant must donate €98,000 to the Malta State Fund. Furthermore, each applicant must contribute an additional €2,000 to a Maltese charity of his choice.
The applicant gathers all necessary documentation before applying. From the total application cost, a €10,000 non-refundable fee is due at this time. The Malta Residence Agency reviews the application and supporting documentation and performs due diligence on the applicant after it is submitted. An analysis of this nature takes typically 4-6 months to complete.
If the application is accepted in principle, the applicant must complete the remainder of the transaction, including the remaining donation and the purchase or leasing of real estate. For processing, the documents must be submitted to the Malta Residence Agency.
