Luxembourg is a small but prosperous European Union nation. It is located in the triangle formed by France, Belgium, and Germany. Luxembourg has always been a popular destination for wealthy business people from around the world with its strong financial industry and pleasant tax system. The nation is very peaceful and is an excellent place to raise a family. The Luxembourg Residency By Investment programme (aka Luxembourg Investor Visa) grants permanent residency to approved applicants and their families. In return for savings, the programme provides a route to a three-year renewable resident permit. You may apply for permanent residency and citizenship after five years.
There are a few options available with the Luxembourg golden visa scheme. Those who want to invest actively in Luxembourg may either buy or start a company. Those that want to invest passively should put their money in a bank account or under management. It would be best if you committed to the investment for a period of five years.
For those willing to spend at least half of their year in Luxembourg, the Luxembourg investor scheme is a perfect way to gain European citizenship. The Luxembourg passport is one of the best globally, allowing for free movement within the European Union and 90 days of visa-free travel to the United States each year. Luxembourg has lower tax rates than most of Europe. If disposed of after six months and without 10% ownership in the last five years of the business, capital gains on locally traded stock can be tax-free. The Luxembourg Investor Program for Foreigners offers you a pathway to a secure and prosperous life.

The Luxembourg Residence by Investment program offers four different options:
The investor, his or her spouse, or registered partner, must be the successful beneficiary of the deposited or invested funds. The money must be held for a minimum of five years. If the investor can show that he contributed at least that amount without financing, he will be able to find funding. Direct and indirect investments in real estate acquisition or leasing are not considered when applying for a residence permit. Application fees are of €80 per person for the resident permit.
Invest at least €500,000 in a new business with a registered office in Luxembourg. A commercial, art, or industrial operation is required of or will be required of the company.
Invest at least €10 million in the form of a fund deposit with a Luxembourg-based financial institution, with a promise to hold the deposit for at least five years. The funds that have been deposited must meet specific criteria.
Invest at least €500,000 in an existing company registered in Luxembourg. The level of employment must be the same at the time of the investment. This does not apply during the acquisition of a company in difficulty and under a redundancy plan.
Invest at least €3 million in a current or yet-to-be-created management and investment system with a registered office in Luxembourg, where it must provide and retain the required substance. The investment structure must include the following features:
Before you may apply your application for an authorisation to remain, you must first present the proposal or evidence of investment to the Minister of the Economy (active investment) or the Minister of Finance (passive investment) and receive approval from the minister concerned. The concerned minister notifies the third-country national investor in writing. In the case of acceptance, the third-country federal must request an application for permission to remain before entering the country.
Before entering the country, send an application to the Immigration Directorate or the Luxembourg representation in your country for a temporary authorization to remain. All requested documentation and charges related to your investment activity must be included in the application. In most cases, the decision-making process takes between one and three months. If no response is received during this time frame, the application will be considered unsuccessful. If the application is approved, the applicant will be issued a "temporary authorization to stay" by mail. For a period of 90 days, the temporary stay authorization is valid.
Within three days of landing in Luxembourg, you must file a declaration of arrival with your new commune of residence in Luxembourg. After that, you'll have to go through a medical examination. After that, you should make an application for an investor's residence permit. When the application is accepted, the applicant will receive a letter inviting them to schedule a biometrics appointment with the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs' Immigration Directorate. The applicant will pick up the residency permit in person at the Immigration Directorate after a few days.
Investors who are accepted are granted a three-year residence
permit in Luxembourg. Given the 5-year investment cycle, the residence permit
is only for a limited period to ensure that you have complied with the terms.
Many who applied by investing in a business must show that they generated the
requisite number of jobs to renew. While there is no physical appearance
requirement for this visa, you must be present to apply for long-term residency
for the majority of the year.
